GERMANY’S GREAT ROUTE OF FAIRY TALES
Day 1: Hamburg
Arrival in Hamburg and transfer to your hotel and the "Miniature World".
Day 2: Hamburg - Bremen: The Bremen Town Musicians
After breakfast travel to Bremen, where you visit the wonderful town hall and the statue of Roland, the cathedral and old fishing district of Schnorr. Here the Route of the Fairy Tales begins, where one of the most famous tales has its origins, the Bremen Town Musicians. In addition, you can get to know the Universum Bremen, a place where science becomes an adventure.
Day 3: Bremen - Hameln - Hannover: The Pied Piper of Hameln
Today pass by several beautiful villages: Verden, famous for its horses, Nienburg with its historic center and Rinteln, the city of castles. Arrival in Hameln where the tale of the Pied Piper of Hameln originated. Every Sunday from May to September, there is a free performance telling its story. After, visit the German Fairy-Tale museum, in Bad Oeynhausen.
Day 4: Hannover - Kassel: From Cinderella to Sleeping Beauty
Continue to Polle, known for the ruins of a castle wherethe rumor says Cinderella lived. Passing by beautiful villages like Höxter and Fürstenberg, you also see the authentic castle of the Sleeping Beauty in Sababurg. Arrival in Kassel, where the brothers Grimm began to write their world-renowned stories.
Day 5: Puss in Boots and Snow-white
Today you have a full day to do a circuit route around Kassel, with its small villages and beautiful landscapes where the Puss in Boots and Snow- white lived. Do not miss a visit of Göttingen, where the brothers Grimm have taught at the University. Travel continues to the Bergpark in Wilhelmshöhe, the only park of hills in Europe, with romantic nature and a fascinating fountain (UNESCO World Heritage). Day 6: Kassel - Marburg: Little Red Riding Hood
Departure to the south. In Neukirchen you can visit the House of Fairy Tales. And in Schwalmstadt you are in the region where the Little Red Riding Hood was born. Arrival in Marburg, one of the best pre- served medieval towns in the country, here you will visit its palace and museum.
Day 7: Marburg - Steinau - Hanau - Frankfurt
The first stop today has to be in Steinau, where the brothers Grimm lived and spent their childhood. En route to Frankfurt you can stop in Hanau, native town of the Grimm brothers. Enjoy visiting Wilhelmsbad, an ancient spa complex surrounded by a large state park in Hanau. If you travel between May and July, you can attend the Festival of Tales in Hanau.
