a story that started modestly
WHERE IT STARTED
TStravelselection was created from a simple idea: travel should feel personal. Not built around an itinerary designed for hundreds of other people. Not rushed. Founded in Brisbane, Australia in 2022. The journey of TStravelselection started long before it officially went public. TStravelselection brings together European heritage, first-hand destination knowledge and a distinctly Australian understanding of how our travellers want to experience Europe. Today, we create tailor-made journeys and private travel experiences across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, bringing together the right places, people, experiences and details to create journeys that feel genuinely individual and seamless.
CENTRAL EUROPEAN ROOTS / ORIGIN
Our story begins in Europe.
Our founders, Sonja and Thomas, were born and raised in Germany and later lived, worked and travelled extensively across Europe, including Switzerland and Australia. Their experiences eventually brought them to Australia, which became home and the foundation for TStravelselection.
Over many years and more than 60 countries, one thing became clear: the most memorable travel experiences rarely come from simply ticking off famous sights. Through these experiences, they came to know, appreciate and love Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein in particular.
This was never simply about knowing where the famous sights are. It was about understanding how a destination feels, discovering both well-known and lesser-known destinations, meeting local people, experiencing different cultures and gaining a genuine understanding of the places they visited.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRAVEL COMPANY
When TStravelselection was established, the goal was never to become another traditional tour operator.
We wanted to create something more considered. A travel company where expertise comes before volume. Where travellers are listened to before an itinerary is created. Where local knowledge makes the difference between simply visiting a destination and experiencing it.
Our approach combines the convenience and accessibility of modern travel planning with the knowledge, care and personal connection that can only come from people who genuinely know the destinations.
COVID-19
The unprecedented impacts of Covid-19, of course, shattered our plans like a wrecking ball.
The years around the pandemic changed travel for everyone.
For us, they also reinforced something we already believed: there is enormous value in travelling differently.
This was not just a journey along a very bumpy road, it changed our attitude towards travelling dramatic. We never lost faith to reconnect with our loved ones in person. With international travel interrupted, our connection with Europe became even more important.
Time was spent rediscovering familiar places, exploring lesser-known regions and looking beyond the destinations normally found in a standard itinerary. It was a reminder that even places we think we know can reveal something completely new when we take the time to look closer.
FROM AN IDEA TO A SPECIALIST COMPANY
Since launching in Brisbane, TStravelselection has continued to evolve.
While knowing what we have, we always strive for more authentic and enriching travel experiences. We are grateful to offer personalised and tailor-made travel experiences which allow our travellers to dive deeper into places, empower human connections and bring culture and heritage alive.
