GERMANY’S GREAT BEER ROUTE
1: Frankfurt
Welcome to Frankfurt! Arrival at Frankfurt Airport and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is free at your leisure.
2: Frankfurt – Heidelberg – Alpirsbach
After breakfast, continue your journey to Heidelberg to visit the Abbey and Klosterhof Brewery. After touring the brewery dive into sampling different brews. If you like, enjoy lunch at the Klosterhof Restaurant (optional). Continue to the world-famous Black Forest region to visit the idyllic village of Alpirsbach which is the home of the Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu. Enjoy a tour and beer Sampling at the brewery.
3: Alpirsbach - Tettnang – Missen
Continue touring to the Hopfengut farm No20 in Tettnang, where the best hops are produced, equipped with modern agricultural technology and strictly in accordance to the German purity law from 1516. You will discover the ingredient that characterises the taste and soul of beer. Try and sample 3 special beers for your experience. After lunch, depart to Schäffler Brewery/Allgäu – another fascinating landmark in the south of Germany. This small and historic brewery will convince with its own charm, its dark house beer and the smallest mobile brewery in the world. Visit the brewery and have dinner (optional) in the romantic restaurant of the brewery. Stay overnight at the Brewery’s own Hotel.
4: Missen - Munich
In the morning travel to Munich - capital of Bavaria. Munich is famous for the world's largest beer festival in the world - the Munich Oktoberfest. Visit the city’s main attractions, focus on the topic beer and sample traditional Bavarian cuisine at the local market. Conclude your tour at the Marienplatz square with its famous clock tower. The remaining time of the day is free at your leisure.
5: Munich
Explore this vibrant city at your own pace. Walk and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere in one oft he many beer gardens. Visit places like the original Munich Hofbräuhaus, Ayinger am Platzl or Augustiner am Platzl.
6: Munich - Kloster Weltenberug - Nürnberg
After breakfast travel to the Benedictine Monastery of Weltenburg, which is the world's oldest Monastery brewery in the world (since 1050). Surrounded by chestnut tress and the impressive baroque architecture of the Asam brothers, Klosterschenke Weltenburg offers true Bavarian hospitality in an unique atmosphere. In the afternoon travel to Nuremberg, explore the historical city centre with the „Bimmelbahn“, a little city tour train and visit the maze in the Rock cut Cellar enjoying the locally brewed beer.
7: Nürnberg - Bamberg - Nürnberg
After breakfast arrive in Bamberg, which has 12 breweries and 20 beer cellars within the city. Enjoy the craftmanship of the brewers in traditional brewery pubs in an historical atmosphere. Visit the Klosterbräu Brewery and have lunch for a local treat (optional). After lunch explore the traditional city of Bamberg on your own. You may visit the Old Town Hall or the famous cathedral - both are UNESCO Heritage sites. Later return to Nürnberg .
8: Nürnberg - Frankfurt
After breakfast travel to Frankfurt where your tour ends.
