GRAND TOUR OF SWITZERLAND
Day 1: Zurich - Lucerne
In the morning City Tour of Zurich. Continue your journey to Lucerne. Lucerne is one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. Visit the famous Chapel Bridge “Kapelbrücke”, which is considered to be the oldest in Europe.
Day 2: Lucerne - Bern - Interlaken
After breakfast, travel to Bern - the capital of Switzerland. Visit the old town of Bern which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Continue your trip to Interlaken at the foot of Mount Jungfrau, located between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. If time allows, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Thun or Lake Brienz. (available during summer months, not included).
Day 3: Interlaken - Train to Jungfrau “Top of Europe“
Take the cogwheel train to Jungfraujoch - “Top of Europe”. Europe’s highest train station, at an elevation of 3.444 m. A year round winter wonderland of snow and ice offering spectacular Alpine views. Get impressed by this unforgettable experience! Return to Interlaken.
Day 4: Interlaken - Gruyères - Freiburg - Geneva
Early in the morning, travel to the Region of “La Gruyère”, home to the well-known Gruyère cheese. Visit a cheese factory to learn more about the cheese production. Continue your trip to Freiburg, one of the largest medieval cities in Switzerland. Visit the small town Neuchâtel before arriving in Geneva.
Day 5: Geneva - Lausanne - Montreux
Visit the city to get to know the international neighborhoods of Geneva and the main tourist attractions of the city, such as the beautiful fountain of Lake Geneva (Jetd‘Eau) and the wonderful Flower Clock. Depart to Lausanne, a picturesque city on the shores of Lake Geneva. Travel through the beautiful Lavaux wine region until you arrive in Montreux.
Day 6: Montreux - Zermatt
Today travel to Zermatt. On the way pass the wine area of Sion. Continue through the valley of the Rodano river to Täsch. Board the train to Zermatt, located at the foot of the impressive Mount Cervin.
Day 7: Zermatt - Andermatt - Lugano
Departure from Zermatt to Andermatt, the heart of the Swiss Alps. Continue to Lugano with a stop in Locarno.
Day 8: Lugano
Visit Lugano, a city famous for its impressive landscape and its Mediterranean climate. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure.
Day 9: Lugano - Belinzona - St. Mortiz - Davos
Continue your journey to Bellinzona - the capital of Ticino. Bellinzona is well known for its three medieval castles which have been declared as UNESCO World Heritage sites by UNESCO. Travel to St. Moritz and continue your trip to Davos.
Day 10: Davos - St. Gallen
After breakfast, travel to St. Gallen. On the way stop in Maienfeld, a place that inspired the writer Johanna Spyri to write her novel about Heidi. Heidi Village recreation visit (available during summer months). Enjoy your ongoing journey through Appenzell and get impressed by its beautiful mountain scenery until you arrive in St. Gallen.
Day 11: St. Gallen - Rhine Waterfalls - Zurich
Toda, visit the Rhine Falls, which is the largest waterfall in Europe. Enjoy a 30 min boat ride and experience first-hand what makes this natural spectacle so fascinating (available during summer months). Return to Zurich.
