SWITZERLAND WITH GLACIER EXPRESS
Day 1: Zurich
Welcome to Zurich, Switzerland! Enjoy your day in the lakeside city of Zurich. You may wish to start with a walk through Zurich’s historic old town and/or along the world-famous Bahnhofstrasse before arriving at Bürkliplatz, where the city opens up to Lake Zurich. Continue with a relaxing Seerundfahrt (lake cruise) on Lake Zurich, passing elegant villas, peaceful lakeside scenery and a beautiful alpine backdrop. In Kilchberg you may wish to visit the Lindt Home of Chocolate, Switzerland’s largest interactive chocolate museum, all about the Swiss cultural heritage of chocolate. Enjoy an engaging, interactive experience and sweet tastings along the way. Later ascend to Uetliberg, Zurich’s local mountain and take in panoramic views over the city, Lake Zurich and the distant Alps - a breathtaking bird’s-eye perspective of what you have experienced from below.

Day 2: Zurich - St. Moritz
Travel by train from Zurich to Chur, where your journey into the heart of the Swiss Alps truly begins. From here, continue towards St. Moritz, travelling through one of the most spectacular alpine landscapes in Switzerland. The route winds its way through the dramatic Albula Gorge, across impressive viaducts, through tunnels carved into the mountains and past deep valleys and traditional mountain villages. Arrival in St. Moritz, the legendary alpine resort known for its elegance, crystal-clear mountain air and stunning natural surroundings. Nestled by its shimmering lake and surrounded by the Engadin mountains, St. Moritz offers a unique blend of alpine beauty, refined charm and timeless Swiss luxury. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 3: Glacier Express: St. Moritz - Zermatt
After breakfast, board the famous Glacier Express, the slowest express train in the world. Settle into your panoramic carriage and experience one of Switzerland’s most iconic journeys, as the train gently winds its way through the heart of the Alps. Marvel at ever-changing scenery unfolding outside your window: dense forests, deep valleys, sparkling rivers, dramatic gorges and snowcapped peaks rising into the sky. Pass by spectacular waterfalls, impressive mountain ranges and timeless alpine villages that seem untouched by time. This is not just a train ride, it is an immersive journey through the Swiss Alps, where every moment reveals a new postcard-perfect view. Enjoy lunch (included) on the Glacier Express as the ever-changing scenery slowly unfolds outside your window. Arrival in Zermatt, this charming car-free mountain village nestled at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn, where your alpine adventure continues.
Day 4: Zermatt - Gornergrat - Zermatt - Interlaken
In the morning, board the Gornergrat Railway and ascend to the Gornergrat, a spectacular mountain ridge in the Swiss Alps near Zermatt. From here, you are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of iconic peaks such as the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa, as well as the vast Gorner Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in the Alps. Take time to soak in this truly unique Swiss Alpine atmosphere and the feeling of standing above a world of mountains. The historic Gornergrat Railway, carries you steadily up to 3,089 meters (10,135 feet), making it one of the highest open-air railways in Europe. At the top, the landscape opens into a dramatic world of rock, and endless alpine peaks stretching into the horizon. After returning to Zermatt, continue your journey by train towards Interlaken, travelling through scenic valleys and magnificent mountain landscapes as you make your way into the Bernese Oberland.
Day 5: Train to Jungfraujoch "Top of Europe"
A spectacular journey by cogwheel train takes you through the heart of the Swiss Alps to Jungfraujoch, the “Top of Europe”. At 3,454 metres above sea level, it is the highest railway station in Europe, offering an unforgettable alpine experience. At the summit, a year-round world of snow and ice unfolds before you, with vast glaciers, dramatic peaks and endless Alpine views stretching into the horizon, a breathtaking experience at the very heart of the Swiss Alps. Step into the magical Ice Palace, where sparkling ice sculptures and tunnels carved deep into the glacier create a surreal, otherworldly atmosphere. From the Sphinx Terrace, take in breathtaking 360° panoramic views over the Aletsch Glacier and surrounding 4,000-metre peaks. This is a place where the scale of nature becomes almost surreal and every direction reveals a new breathtaking panorama. After soaking in the extraordinary scenery and atmosphere, return by train to Interlaken, travelling again through the impressive mountain landscapes of the Swiss Alps.
Day 6: Interlaken – Lucerne – any destination within Switzerland
After breakfast, board the train to Lucerne and enjoy the scenic journey, passing sparkling lakes, rolling hills and traditional villages along the way. In Lucerne, enjoy a leisurely walk through the charming old town and across the world-famous Chapel Bridge, where painted wooden panels and historic architecture reflect the city’s rich heritage. Depending on your preferences, you may choose to end your tour in Lucerne, return to Zurich, or continue onwards by train to any destination within Switzerland.
